During Storm Arwen, the roof of the clubhouse at Ulverston Golf Club was blown off. Rather than close down completely, the club decided to install a temporary kitchen and hospitality area for the members and guests to use whilst the clubhouse was repaired.
With access to the site difficult, the Head Groundsman at the club was not convinced that a kitchen supplied using a Hiab crane could be delivered to site without damaging the course.
Options to help protect the course were discussed, but would have added considerable additional costs to the project.
After searching online, the club approached On-Site Kitchen Rentals Ltd to see if an alternative temporary kitchen solution was available. With our fleet of well-equipped Sprinter trailer kitchens which can be delivered using a four-wheel drive vehicle, we were able to offer something that would ensure the golf course wouldn't get damaged.
A site survey was carried out, a list of equipment agreed, and the Sprinter kitchen was delivered promptly, allowing the replacement roof project to get underway.
The new hospitality area supported by our kitchen became an instant hit with the golf club members and visitors, and the club managed to remain open whist repair work was carried out.
A committee member of the club commented:
Ulverston Golf Club would like to thank all the team at On-Site Kitchen Rentals for successfully organising and coordinating the Sprinter kitchen arrangements on their behalf.
