Eden Boys' Leadership Academy, Birmingham East is an 800 place, 11-19 years Muslim faith-based secondary school which welcomes applications from pupils of all faiths and none.
It was opened in September 2018 at temporary premises within the grounds of a Victorian built former grammar school, admitting 180 pupils in the first year of operation.
The temporary site was in use for several years whilst a new, purpose built, state-of-the-art campus was constructed elsewhere.
In 2019, the academy approached On-Site Kitchen Rentals Ltd after facing issues with the existing kitchens at the temporary site.
Within three weeks we had designed and supplied a temporary kitchen facility to feed all the pupils that matched their existing facility. We also supplied an adjacent dining facility with full servery for the pupils.
In total, eleven modules were installed to site. Two Maxi units to accommodate the kitchens and six Modex Modular units to create temporary buildings for the servery and dining area. Plus refrigerated store and dry store.
The units were fully equipped from our extensive range of catering equipment including: all the kitchen equipment needed for a varied school menu, warewashing, storage racking and refrigeration, along with a servery system, dining tables and chairs.
The installation remained in place on long term hire until the new school building was available.
Upfront ongoing hire rates and a comprehensive service contract whereby On-Site Kitchen Rentals Ltd are responsible for all servicing and parts (excluding consumables) allowed the academy trust to manage their budget.
