Afghan Refugee Catering

As the government continues to develop long term strategies for the UK's refugee and asylum system, there is a need around the UK to house existing refugees whilst their requests for asylum are assessed.

As well as the use of government property, this role has also been filled by a number of private temporary accommodation providers.

On-Site Kitchen Rentals Ltd were thus contacted by a leading hotel chain to overcome temporary kitchen requirements to feed housed refugees.

Reheat Kitchen

Based in Dundee in Scotland, the hotel was home to approximately 150 refugees from Afghanistan.

It required a specialist kitchen primarily for reheat of food brought in from outside to be served into a specific wing of the hotel, whilst accommodating dietary requirements.

Urgent Need

With a near emergency need, the kitchen was with the client within four days of enquiry, allowing hot meals to be served to all.

During that fast turnaround the kitchen was delivered bespoke to specification. In discussion, On-Site Kitchen Rentals Ltd advised the client on the best kitchen equipment and layout to suit their needs.

Our Maxi kitchen was supplied, inclusive of the latest Rational oven.

The kitchen continues to assist with this emergency situation.
